Generally our customers are not tech savvy at all and have no real idea what they're buying with hosting.
We also come across scenarios where we’ve had customers for years and with staff changes the original decision maker who bought the product is no longer there and someone new is in charge of product decisions.
This leads to a scenario where the new decision maker isn’t necessarily sold or across all the unique features of a hosting service, eg AI powered updates and then starts comparing what is on the surface an expensive service to say $2/month cheapy hosting on Bluehost
We’d love to be able to have more marketing speak on the invoices to avoid this scenario and also just to generally promote the features and benefits of the product people are buying. From our perspective, the monthly or yearly invoice is a marketing asset
As such. we'd love to be able to add the "product description" field to invoices as well as the product name. Is this possible?
Alternatively and even more ideally, having a new field on products called “marketing description” and then be able to use that on invoices - the product description and marketing description would be slightly different in some cases and there’s some scenarios where we’d want to push an upsell in a marketing description but not necessarily in product descriptions. For example, on domain names, one thing we try to have all customers do is renew their domain for as long as the tld allows, eg 10 years for .com → this boosts our revenue but also is better for customers as no domain lapses. We’d ideally have this upsell prompt in the marketing description but not in the product description
