Auto-login users from the registration page, with redirect support

When a visitor registers for an account using the registration page (not the order form), they are prompted to then login which lands them on the dashboard.

Can this be changed to automatically log the user in on registration, supporting the redirect function that the login page has (/login?redirect=%2Faccount%2Faffiliate%2Foverview).

The end result should support something like: /auth/register?redirect=%2Faccount%2Faffiliate%2Foverview

Use case: pushing affiliates to register from the website. With the current setup they then have to go find the affiliate page to get their first link. With this change it simplifies the process and on registration, they’d land directly on the affiliate page.
