We're looking into using more of the translation features and enabling e.g. EN or FR, but we've hit a snag with invoices.
When we invoice, we're legally required to send invoices in Dutch, no matter what the customer's language settings are. Basically, if we turn on more translations, it could mess with the invoice language and put us in a legally tricky spot
We need a way to force invoices to be in Dutch for those specific cases, even if the customer's account is set to another language. Is there a way we can set a mandatory, non-changeable invoice language, independent from the user's settings?
We're looking for a solution and have two options in mind:
A: Force Language: Is it possible to force the invoice language to Dutch, regardless of the user's language preferences?
B: Dual PDFs: Alternatively, could we generate two PDFs—one in Dutch (mandatory) and one in the customer's preferred language (for their convenience)? (but the official, legal and portal one stays dutch)
To give you some context, Belgium has specific language laws. You can review general information regarding language legislation here: https://www.unpaid.be/en/discover/which-language-should-i-draw-my-invoices
