Pawapay Payment Gateway Integration

Feature Request

Enable the PawaPay payment gateway, which offers seamless mobile money interoperability and integrates with region-specific payment solutions across Africa’s emerging markets.

How Would You Use This in Upmind?

- Most users in Africa’s emerging markets rely almost exclusively on mobile money for transactions. Credit cards and traditional online payment methods have limited penetration, making mobile-first payment solutions critical for any e-commerce or multi-brand platform. - Present payment gateways to address this with best UX. PawaPay aligns with this reality, enabling frictionless transactions for the majority of our customers. - It'll allow customers across our and other users with multiple brands and geographies to pay using locally preferred mobile money options. - It'll integrate directly into checkout and billing workflows for a smooth, native mobile payment experience. - I'll support automated billing, renewals, and real-time payment confirmations, improving operational efficiency across all managed brands.

What problem does this solve for you?

Current gateways are rigid and misaligned with dominant payment habits. Most customers in our target regions cannot rely on international cards, leading to: - Checkout friction and failed transactions - Increased customer drop-off - Operational inefficiencies from manual payment handling

Impact of not having this feature

- Unfair discrimination of users who are heavily reliant on mobile money transactions and hence loss of business for this fully untapped market. - Lower conversion rates and lost revenue - Poor user experience and reduced trust among local customers - Limited scalability across African and other emerging markets where mobile money transactions are on the rise
