Back to all requestsUS ACH Direct Debit (bank account) payments via Stripe and GoCardless Please add US ACH Direct Debit (bank account) payments to the Stripe and GoCardless integrations, so US clients can pay invoices and recurring subscriptions from a saved bank account with autopay.
Feature Request Support for US ACH Direct Debit (Stripe us_bank_account) in the Stripe integration, and US ACH mandates in the GoCardless integration, including stored bank accounts and automatic recurring payments.
How Would You Use This in Upmind? We're a US digital agency billing recurring website/marketing retainers and larger project invoices. Clients would add a US bank account in the client area (instant verification via Stripe Financial Connections, micro-deposits as fallback), and we'd assign it as the payment method on their contract products so renewals are charged automatically, just like stored cards. Upmind would show the invoice as processing until the ACH payment clears, mark it paid via webhook, and handle failed/returned debits.
What problem does this solve for you? Support confirmed that neither the Stripe nor the GoCardless integration supports US ACH today. The only bank option is the manual Bank Transfer method: no stored bank accounts, no autopay, and every invoice has to be marked paid by hand.
Impact of not having this feature We pay ~2.9% card fees on retainers and project invoices that could be paid by ACH for a $5 max. Clients who prefer paying by bank have no autopay option, so we chase payments and reconcile bank transfers by hand. Posted by Hanan J. Wilson · Oct 25
